Dennis Plank founded Tri-County Steel in 1995 at 18 years old in Arthur, Illinois, building production carts, bunks, and racks on his father’s farm. What started as a small welding shop has grown into a full turnkey structural steel operation.
Tri-County Steel was founded in 1995 by Dennis Plank at just 18 years old, starting on his father’s farm in Arthur, Illinois, building production carts, bunks, and racks. What began as a small welding operation has grown into a full turnkey structural steel operation with over 100,000 square feet of facility space. We’re AISC Certified, AWS Certified, and one of the few shops that handles both fabrication and erection in-house.
